WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CHOOSE A DRIVING SCHOOL?


Ask friends and family about their experience.

Speak directly to the owner and/or instructors.

Does the curriculum meet, or exceed the guidelines set by the state’s Registry of Motor Vehicles? (required by law)

How did the school choose or create a curriculum? Where do they acquire their information?

How are the instructors kept up-to-date with their education as relates to traffic safety, the law, new tools for learning etc?

What will the expectations of the student be during classroom and on-the-road lessons?

What material will be covered during the program?

How do they help to ensure the safety of the student?

Parents: Ask to visit the classroom for an overview of what to expect. If you are not welcome, be wary.

Is the school a member of the state’s association for driver educators? (Massachusetts: Professional Driver Educator Association, PDEA)
